What Direct Response Web Design Can Do For Your Bottom Line

I often wonder why it is exactly some business owners go to the effort and the expense of getting a website developed for their businesses. Not because it’s not a great idea, quite the opposite, but because the majority of what constitutes web design for these businesses is utterly ineffective at best.

You see, the majority of web design isn’t really done with any specific profit-orientated goal in mind, moreover it’s done for fuzzy, woolly reasons like brand building, customer engagement or to act as a placeholder for the business.

All of which are probably better than not having a website at all, but really it amounts to little more than a morbidly obese person walking to the shops once a month thinking it’ll be enough to help him lose weight.

To put it clearly: the vast bulk of web design misses out on a golden opportunity to employ classic salesmanship techniques, and businesses everywhere are suffering as a result.

If you take a look at a typical website you’ll see exactly what I mean.

Typically, they will lead with the business’s logo, a few stock photos..all laid out in a nice tidy and elegant design.

From an aesthetic point of view, it’s done its job.

However from the point of view of selling the business and what it can do to help its prospects, it fails dismally.

Nowhere is there an illustration of what makes the business different and unique. Scant regard is given to how this company are the ones to solve the visitor’s problems.

Actively generating interest in the product by using emotionally charged and persuasive copy is ignored.

And because of this, businesses everywhere are leaving bags of money on the table.

If one examines the web design industry, it’s easy to see why things are this way.

It’s an industry exclusively staffed by graphical artists and techies, individuals with no understanding of customer psychology or what makes people buy in the first place.

People who simply aren’t qualified to know what are the key motivating factors that determine whether a person buys a product from you or not.

However, “direct response” web design takes a different approach.

Its main focus is sales and persuasion.

Its primary objective is to gain the visitors เว็บตรง attention by appealing to her self-interest, and leading her through a process known as “the greased slide” whereby she is informed of the benefits of using this product, persuaded that this is something that she should have in order to satisfy her needs, then she is asked for action.

It’s simple, and its works like gangbusters.

Granted, it’s not for everyone as there will always be those who value their image over their bottom line.

Or those who are simply uncomfortable with being a touch “obvious” in asking for the sale.

Well, there’s an old saying in sales circles that goes, “timid salesman have skinny kids.”

But the savvy business owner who is willing to take the bull by the horns and embrace direct response marketing doesn’t have that problem though.

That’s not to say “direct response” web design won’t bring him problems, but they’re usually related to back-pain from hauling heavy sacks of cash back and forth to the bank!

What about you? Maybe it’s time for you to try it for your business too?

If you’re interested in using the internet to save time, make money and boost your bottom line then you need “direct response” web design. It really is a no brainer. Direct response is the only style of marketing that has proven time and time again to work well for small businesses, in order for them to cut through the clutter and deliver their unique
